Tour description :

Join us for an unforgettable climbing trip to Sutai Mountain, the highest peak in the Govi-Altai region, and the easternmost of the 13 snow-capped summits in the Mongol Altai range. Revered as a sacred mountain, Sutai is celebrated for its pristine beauty and uniqueness. It stretches 60 km and rises to 4,234 meters above sea level, accessible via F+ grade route. The trek features a mix of challenging climbs and breathtaking views, perfect for capturing the panoramic sights of the Mongol Altai Mountains.
Located 1,016 km from Ulaanbaatar, this area is home to local herders who raise yaks. The region boasts diverse wildlife, including Saiga antelope, Gobi bears, and wild horses. Its distinctive landscape features high mountains with permanent permafrost and glaciers, contrasted with the fragile desert conditions of Central Asia. This tour offers an incredible adventure in a hidden gem of the Gobi-Altai range, one of Mongolia’s most beautiful regions.

Arrival in UB and city tour

Upon your arrival in Ulaanbaatar, our local staffs (drivers and guide) will pick you up at the international airport of Chinggis khan. You will be transferred to a centrally located three-star hotel.
At noon, you will be escorted for a guided city tour that highlights the city’s most notable attractions, impressive National History Museum, Sukhbaatar Square and the Parliament building.
As the evening approaches, at 6:00 PM, experience a traditional Mongolian show at Tumen Ekh ensemble, featuring folk dances, contortion, and khoomii, the unique throat singing, followed by a welcome dinner.

Hiking in Bogd khan mountain

Today, we’ll take a short drive to Bogd Khan Mountain, Mongolia’s first protected sacred site, just south of Ulaanbaatar. We’ll travel 25 kilometers southeast to the Tur Khurkh Valley, a popular hiking spot for city residents all year round.
Bogd Khan is part of the Khentii Mountain range and has a main ridge that runs east to west, with smaller peaks. The highest peak, Tsetsee Gun, is 2268 meters tall, followed by Tushuu Gun at 2256 meters. Our hike to Tsetsee Gun will take about six hours round trip and will provide great climbing training. We’ll walk through beautiful Siberian larch forests for a memorable experience. After our hike, we’ll return to Ulaanbaatar.
